Worse with age.
With the incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) increasing among people under 50, the USPSTF recently lowered the age to initiate CRC screening to 45. Using data from the Nurses Health Study II, which included >111,000 participants, this study compared CRC incidence based on the age of initial endoscopic screening. Indeed, those who initiated screening before age 50 had a lower risk of CRC before age 55 and a greater absolute reduction in the risk of CRC than those who initiated screening at or after age 50. | Ma, JAMA Oncol 2022
