Oncologists are no strangers to patients enrolling in clinical trials when all other standard options are exhausted. While tireless efforts are put into evaluating patients when they enter a cancer clinical trial, this novel qualitative study explores the experience of patients as they exit the trial, whether for disease progression or adverse events. A commonality was an intense realization of limited life expectancy with limited discussions on how to navigate needs in the immediate post-trial period. | Ulrich, JAMA Netw Open 2021
