Tight borders.

This phase 2 trial evaluated the omission of elective pelvic nodal volumes from neoadjuvant radiation fields for rectal cancer. Fifty-two patients with low-lying T2 or T3 (N0-1) rectal cancers were included. They had advanced radiographic staging (PET and MRI) and were treated with what’s essentially a boost volume to 50.4 Gy (tumor, mesorectum, peri-rectal, and presacral nodes). The rate of acute grade 3+ GI toxicity was a favorable 8%, and there were no recurrences in the lateral pelvic nodes. | Michele, Pract Radiat Oncol 2020
