Dive into five.

This no-nonsense editorial points out that the 5-fraction radiation regimens (finally) adopted in the US under the strain of a pandemic should remain the post-pandemic standard considering non-inferior oncologic outcomes with often less toxicity and certainly less burden. This includes 26Gy/5 conventional for whole breast, 30Gy/5 IMRT for partial breast, 25Gy/5 conventional for upper- to mid-rectal cancers, and 36.25Gy/5 (or some similar iteration) SBRT for low- or intermediate-risk prostate cancer. | Ling, Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys 2020
