It’s not uncommon to be asked whether one should have genetic testing for breast cancer predisposition. Updates to the USPSTF recommendations for BRCA1/2 testing help guide us on who should undergo genetic counselling and testing. It applies to any woman with a family history of breast, ovarian, tubal, or peritoneal cancer or survivors of those malignancies with an unknown BRCA status.
